Industry Partnerships

Partner With the Graphic & Web Design Program

The Graphic & Web Design program at North Idaho College values strong connections with industry professionals, employers, and community partners. Opportunities such as internships, guest speaking, project collaboration, and portfolio reviews help students connect their classroom experience to the real world.

Opportunities that benefit the student cohort and their portfolio development are prioritized. If you have an opportunity that could benefit our students, we welcome you to reach out.

Ways to Work With GDES

There are several ways professionals and organizations can connect with the program.

Internships

Internships help students gain practical experience while applying their skills in professional settings. We are interested in opportunities related to design, web development, branding, digital media, marketing, and related creative fields.

Guest Speaking

We welcome professionals who are willing to speak with students about their work, creative process, career path, or industry trends.

Projects & Collaboration

Organizations may propose real-world projects, creative briefs, or partnerships that align with student learning and program goals.

Portfolio Reviews & Mentorship

Professionals can support students by sharing feedback, career advice, and perspective as they prepare to enter the field.

Industry Advisory Committee

The GDES Technical Advisory Committee is made up of industry professionals who help guide the program and ensure our curriculum reflects current design and technology practices.

What Makes a Strong Opportunity

We review each opportunity with student learning and program fit in mind. Strong opportunities are clear, relevant, and provide meaningful value for students. We are especially interested in opportunities that:

  • Connect to design, web, UX, branding, digital media, or creative technology
  • Offer practical experience or professional exposure
  • Have a clear scope, timeline, or purpose
  • Align with the goals and schedule of the program

Not Every Opportunity Can Be Accepted

We appreciate every inquiry, but not every request will be the right fit for the program or a given semester. Opportunities are reviewed based on relevance, timing, available capacity, and overall benefit to students. Submitting an opportunity does not guarantee participation, but every request will be reviewed.
