Graphic & Web Design Program

Different Years, Different Students, Same Results.

A cohort-based design program. Branding, web design, digital media, and fabrication — all building toward a professional portfolio and the annual student-produced Portfolio Show.

What Makes GDES Different

The Graphic & Web Design program at North Idaho College is built around one thing: graduating with a professional portfolio that proves what you can do.

Cohort-Based Learning

Students enter the program together and graduate together, building creative relationships that often last well beyond the program.

Student-Produced Portfolio Show

Pitch, design, and produce a professional exhibition of your work as the capstone of the program.

Real Production Labs

Mac labs, laser cutters, large format printers, 3D printers, and a T1V interactive wall.

Portfolio-Driven Curriculum

Every course builds toward a professional portfolio that proves what you can do.

Capstone Experience

The Portfolio Show

Every student pitches a concept for the annual GDES Portfolio Show. One concept is selected, and the entire graduating class collaborates to bring that vision to life — designing the brand, building the website, producing materials, and exhibiting their portfolios.

It's a real exhibition. A real brand. And a real capstone to two years of creative work.

Cohort-Based Program

Start Together. Design Together. Graduate Together.

Students in the Graphic & Web Design program move through the curriculum as a cohort. From the first semester to the final Portfolio Show, students work alongside the same group of classmates.

This structure encourages collaboration, critique, and long-term creative relationships that often continue well beyond graduation.

Creative Labs & Production

Two buildings. Mac labs, fabrication tools, and collaborative workspaces where students move from concept to physical production.
